Discord user theduck recently wrote that he is interested in selling his business and looking for help to market/sell it.
I replied saying he should ask ChatGPT to write the listing and then quickly attempted to see if this would be possible.
I’ve written successful listings on Flippa before for my own websites, and briefly as a broker. But even with great guides such as this and this, it can take a while to get it sounding right.
So let’s ask our friendly AI assistant to create a listing for us, following the Flippa ‘Sell Now’ process and see what happens.
Let’s say we have an alternative asset newsletter for sale that’s doing pretty well. First, we need to generate the summary for Flippa:
I created this prompt in ChatGPT with details of the asset:
Which generated this decent summary:
But how well will it do at generating a full description?:
I copied and pasted the above as the prompt to find out:
And here’s the output:
It’s quite incredible how it groups the bullet points into the different sections, as well as ad-libs, and I think this passes as an average/typical listing!
#contentsites
Flippa released its 2022 Insights Report on Online Business Acquisition and content (sites) are still king in terms of leading the number of searches on the platform.
In terms of sold listing multiples, content sites averaged 44x monthly profit and an average value of $73K on the platform:
The highest multiple for a content site was for a $5.2MM transaction at a 7.63x annualized net profit.
Will these multiples hold up in 2023?
DentistryUnderstood.com on Twitter doesn’t think so:
For investors concerned about getting hit by a Google update, there can be an opportunity in everything:
#domains
I’m going to be focussing more on domains in 2023 and found this post by Andrew Allemann on Domain Name Wire super useful.

It was a great holiday season for NFTs with volume coming back and many blue-chips pumping, predominantly the BAYC ecosystem (due to the forthcoming Trial of Jimmy the Monkey), but also Pudgy Penguins whose floor moved from ranging between 4-5ETH to now 7.4ETH:
I’m looking forward to making gains in this space in 2023, and to take more profits than I did in 2022.
These tweets are great advice to follow:
