It was great to see a thread from Siro about the history of Psychology Today, how the business changed hands several times, lost revenue and then a husband and wife team turn it into one of highest traffic sites on the internet:
My content site picks on Flippa this week:
#domains
Someone in the Discord reached out to let me know about the opportunity with international domains. These are punycode domains, like emoji domains (which I spent many hours trying and failing to register, covered in this newsletter), but some of them don’t actually redirect in the browser.
For example, I just bought ňft.xyz which has the slovak ň and when you type it into chrome it looks like this:
When in reality, if you copy the URL from the address bar, it shows the punycode version http://xn--ft-fra.xyz/ which redirects to ňft.xyz:
I don’t know if I’ll make bank from buying these types of international domains, but it’s a cool shortcut / URL redirect to another site, to use on social.
Domain Investing
My domain investing philosophy is that I only buy a domain if I can see myself potentially building a website on it one day. I need a filter (otherwise I end up buying too many) and this seems as good as any.
As such, I bought the domain niftystack.com at a Godaddy Auction this week, which is perfect for me due to my love of both NFTs and (Sub)stack.
I was able to get it for what I consider a very low $284. I was aggressively increasing my (auto) bid in increments of $100 to try to dissuade the other bidders from continuing, perhaps it worked!
And I’m confident I can sell it for at least 10x, looking at previous related end-user sales on the likes of Sedo - this is from Namebio:
And also from looking at what other domain investors are pricing on their landers:
Flippa Featured Domains

The effects of FTX going into administration is having ripple effects in the NFT space, with one of the largest bag holders taking WETH offers, knocking down the floor price:
Even OG ape holders are having to sell, although some are not in a major hurry, this one with a $980K asking price:
