Spencer shared his experience of offering selling financing for a content site package he sold, when the buyer couldn’t make payment:
He states that even though he still achieved a great multiple overall (over 40x), he’d rather just accept an all-cash offer next time to avoid this potential situation.
And Jon on Twitter asked how to manually price sponsorship placements on content sites:
J. Paul had the best answer, saying price 2-3x what you currently get from programmatic advertising networks, due to the strategic value:
When I’m offering sponsorship in Substack newsletters, I stay well away from pricing on just the number of clicks generated (which would be more like an affiliate deal in terms of EPC), instead I focus on the number of total views for the brand placement.
#newsletters
Swapstack has had a 2.0 style update with some big features to make newsletter sponsorships easier and faster.
They’ve now brought relationship communication onto the platform to reduce email overload, along with I/Os to manage agreements and invoices to request and receive payments.
And now brands with affiliate programs, using tools such as Impact, PartnerStack and ShareASale (what Flippa uses), can now extend that program to the entire network of 900+ publishers and 60M+ readers on Swapstack.
If you’re looking to find sponsors for your own newsletter, a great tool is sponsorgap.com which tracks which advertisers are sponsoring which newsletters. For example, here are the latest brands buying sponsorships and ads in the Investing Industry:
Likewise you can use whosponsorsstuff.com to find companies that are sponsoring newsletters right now.
#domains
Elliot Silver just reported that Namecheap could rebrand as the Spaceship.com registrar that CEO Richard Kirkendall is currently testing:
Flippa Featured Domains
oilmassagetherapy.com - I had one of these this morning, $150 asking price, reserve not met.
jobofferletter.com - “The offer letter acts as a formal offering of the job position to the applicant” says Indeed - current bid $3, reserve not met.
squa.re - had to look up this TLD, it’s an Island in the India Ocean and a region of France. Wiki says it’s also used for websites related to real estate and occasionally for domain hacks (nailed it). $20K reserve.
copycrush.com - great name for copywriters, $100 current asking price, $1K reserve.
supplements.eu - “Strategic domain name for the supplements industry in the EU region.” - $12K asking price.
guidedwebsites.com - 6 domain package plus @guidedwebsites twitter handle, $6K asking price.

Tim Ferriss released details about his forthcoming NFT project, one that I had whitelisted myself for, and now one which I won’t be minting.
It’s called The Legend of CØCKPUNCH…
Instead I used that 0.5ETH reserved to buy a couple more Nifty Portals which will soon be being burned for a new PFP project that the guys at The Nifty will be launching.
In other news, Moonbirds just put their pixelated art collection “in-chain”:
What this means is that, rather than hosting the image on IPFS (which is what Bored Apes do), or storing then “on-chain” as SVGs (which is what Crypto Punks do), they now create the image for a specific Moonbird using a new rendering contract. This contract assembles all the different traits to create the image as a bitmap.
However, as someone who is into graphic design and print (in a former life / business), I immediately thought can you save it and print it out on your wall.
I tried following the video in this tweet but to no avail:
I then asked Proof’s Director of Product, Harri:
Whose response was:
It seems to me that the Moonbird bitmap can only be rendered digitally and can’t actually be saved. If this is the case, it’s great that it’s on the Ethereum chain forever, but not great for appreciating art IRL.
